NOTE Recommended periodicity: each 5000 km of run or 3 months.

Periodic replacement of oil and the oil filter — the most important preventive procedure of maintenance. In use engine oil grows old — loses operational properties and becomes soiled wear products that conducts to premature wear of the engine.

Replacement of oil make right after a trip on the engine which has not cooled down yet that oil followed together with pollution quicker.

Uncover the maslonalivny mouth located on a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.

Lift the car on the lift or establish the car in horizontal situation on an osmotrovy ditch.

Place capacity for collecting oil under a drain opening and turn out a stopper (fig. 2.5) . Hold a stopper during an otvorachivaniye that oil did not flow out prematurely. Wait plum of engine oil. At an otvorachivaniye of a stopper and plum of oil be careful, as oil has high temperature.

Visual survey check a condition of engine oil on availability of metal shaving and other inclusions.

When oil completely will flow down, wipe oil round a drain opening and wrap a stopper with a new sealing ring.

On cars till 2001 access to the oil filter is carried out from above, and on cars since 2001 — from below.

Special key weaken the oil filter, then unscrew it a hand (fig. 2.6, 2.7) . After separation of the filter from the block of cylinders at once turn it a flange with a carving up to exclude oil plums from the filter.

PREVENTION At an otvorachivaniye of the oil filter be careful, as the final collector has high temperature.

Pure rags wipe the block of cylinders from the oil which has spilled at removal of the filter, otherwise at operation of the engine oil will burn out and smoke. Also the remains of oil will interfere with the correct installation and an inhaling of the new oil filter.

Be convinced that on a privalochny surface of the block of cylinders there were no pasted fragments of laying of the filter. In this case remove them with a scraper.

Grease with fresh engine oil a sealing ring of the new oil filter and wrap the oil filter before contact of laying to the block of cylinders then tighten the filter on 3/4 turns by hand.

Fill in in the engine oil of the corresponding brand. In some minutes check level of engine oil. If it is about FULL label, close a cover of a maslonalivny mouth.

Get the engine for one minute in order that engine oil started to circulate on the engine.

Stop the engine and wait some minutes that oil flew down in the pallet.

Check level of oil and add, if it is necessary. Check absence of leakages of oil from under a stopper and the oil filter, in case of need tighten them.
