NOTE Recommended periodicity: each 50 000 km of run or 24 months.

NOTE Some filters represent screens with openings, which can be cleared by solvents, instead of be replaced.

PREVENTION The oil temperature in a transmission can reach temperature of 170 °C therefore it is necessary to use protective gloves.

Oil replacement in an automatic transmission make right after a trip. Hot oil is more effective, than cold, allows to remove from a transmission the deposit formed in it.

Lift the car on the lift.

Establish capacity for collecting oil under a drain stopper in the pallet of an automatic transmission. Turn out a drain stopper (fig. 2.41) . After plum of oil establish a stopper on a place and tighten the moment of 17,6 N • m on cars till 2001 or the moment of 47,4 N • m on cars since 2001.

On cars since 2001 and on 2WD cars also there is a drain stopper of reverse main gear. Move capacity for collecting oil under a drain stopper of reverse main gear and turn out a drain stopper (fig. 2.42) . After plum of oil establish a stopper on a place and tighten the moment of 54 N • m.

Turn out lobbies and weaken back bolts of fastening of the pallet of an automatic transmission. An edge of a screw-driver or mount reject a forward part of the pallet from a case of an automatic transmission and merge the oil which has remained in the pallet. Turn out back bolts of fastening of the pallet and remove it.

Turn out bolts of fastening of the filter, release clips (on some models) and remove the filter (fig. 2.43) . At removal of the filter be careful, as at it there is a residual liquid.

Establish new (or washed out) the filter, fix it clips and bolts, having tightened them the moment of 9,5 N • m.

Carefully clear privalochny surfaces of the pallet and a case of an automatic transmission.

Note an arrangement of magnets on the pallet, remove and clear them. Wash up the pallet in pure solvent, dry up it a stream of the compressed air and establish into place magnets (fig. 2.44) .

Establish the pallet with new laying on a case of a transmission and fix bolts.

Lower the car.

Through directing tube of the index of level of oil of an automatic transmission fill in fresh oil. Fill in oil in the small portions, thus constantly checking its level.

Get the engine, tighten the parking brake and move the selector lever from situation P to situation L, for a while detaining him in intermediate provisions, then again in situation P.

At operation of the engine on frequency of rotation of idling check oil level in an automatic transmission. Add oil to the top label corresponding to a cold transmission.
