NOTE
Recommended periodicity: each 50000 km of run or 24 months.

NOTE
The cover and rotor of the distributor of ignition equipped cars only till 1997 of release. The cars which were issued from 1988 to 2000, are equipped with contactless system of ignition.
Release cars till 2001 have high-voltage wires, and since 2001 of the coil of ignition are established directly on spark plugs.
|
Check high-voltage wires each time at installation of spark plugs. Begin visual check at the working engine. In the blacked-out garage get the engine and watch each wire. If there is an internal rupture of a wire, the electric arch or a spark in a damage place will be visible. In this case replace a wire.
Switch off and cool the engine then check a cover and a rotor of the distributor of ignition.
Not to mix, on one remove and examine high-voltage wires.

Fig. 2.30. Tip removal with a high-voltage wire from a spark plug on cars till 2001
|
Having pulled up and at the same time turning, remove a tip with a high-voltage wire from a spark plug
(fig. 2.30)
. Do not pull directly for a high-voltage wire.
Check a tip on lack of traces of corrosion in the form of a white firm powder.
Establish into place a tip with a high-voltage wire, pressing it and at the same time turning before its accurate fixing.
Pure rags wipe a high-voltage wire on all its length, having cleared it of dirt and greasing. Check a wire on lack of an oplavleniye, cracks and other damages. Do not do sharp excesses of a wire as the internal conductor can break.

Fig. 2.33. Use of an edge of a screw-driver for removal of a protective cover with a high-voltage wire from a cover of the distributor of ignition
|
Edge of a screw-driver remove a protective cover with a high-voltage wire from a cover of the distributor of ignition on release cars till 1998, or from the ignition coil on release cars from 1998 to 2000
(fig. 2.33)
.
Check inside a protective cover on lack of traces of corrosion. Connect a high-voltage wire.
Similarly check a condition of other high-voltage wires.

Fig. 2.34. An arrangement of the screw of fastening of a cover of the distributor of ignition on release cars till 1998
|
On release cars till 1998 turn out screws and uncover the ignition distributor
(fig. 2.34)
. From within check a cover on lack of cracks, coal "paths", oplavleniye, an obgoraniye and unreliable contacts.
|
Fig. 2.35. A reversing of screws of fastening of a rotor of the distributor of ignition on release cars till 1998
|
Turn out two screws and remove a rotor of the distributor of ignition
(fig. 2.35)
. Check a rotor on lack of cracks, coal "paths", obgoraniye of lateral and central electrodes.
In the presence of any damages replace a cover and a rotor of the distributor of ignition. It is recommended to replace also at replacement of high-voltage wires a cover and a rotor of the distributor of ignition.
If on the car the old cover of the distributor of ignition with high-voltage wires is established, by an ohmmeter measure resistance between the free ends of wires and internal electrodes in a cover which should not exceed 25000 Ohm.
