       PREVENTIONS
Surely replace all blocks on one axis of the car even if only one block is worn-out. If brake shoes are repeatedly established, before removal mark them.
At work of brake shoes the dust which contains asbestos is formed, unhealthy therefore when cleaning brake shoes do not use the compressed air and do not inhale a dust.
For cleaning of brake mechanisms use only a special cleaner of brakes.

Each time at replacement of brake shoes replace returnable and bottom coupling springs as they constantly are exposed to heating and cooling at work of brakes therefore can lose elasticity and not completely take away brake shoes from a brake drum.
Not to mix a detail of the left and right back brake mechanisms, replacement of brake shoes make at first on the one hand, then with another.

The device of the back drum-type brake mechanism is shown on fig. 11.23 .
Block forward wheels an emphasis.
Weaken nuts of fastening of a back wheel. Lift a back part of the car and establish it on support.
Release the lever of the parking brake.
Remove a back wheel.
Marker or paint note mutual position of a brake drum and a nave that at installation of a brake drum balancing was not broken.

From a reverse side of a protective casing of a back brake remove a cap and through the opened opening a screw-driver and a hook rotate a cogwheel of an adjusting level for reduction of length of an adjusting level therefore brake shoes will depart from a brake drum (fig. 11.24) . Remove a brake drum.
Clear brake shoes with use of special liquid and dry up them.

Edge of a screw-driver remove a returnable spring from a forward brake shoe (fig. 11.25) .

Remove a plate of a spring of fixing of a forward brake shoe, having pressed a plate and having turned it on 90 ° (fig. 11.26) .
Remove a forward brake shoe and disconnect from it the bottom returnable spring.
Remove a plate of a spring of fixing of a back brake shoe, having pressed a plate and having turned it on 90 °.

Disconnect a cable of the hand brake from the lever on a back brake shoe (fig. 11.27) .
Remove a back brake shoe together with an adjusting level.

Disconnect a returnable spring from a back brake shoe and remove it and an adjusting level (fig. 11.28) .

Disconnect a spring of the lever of automatic adjustment from a back brake shoe (fig. 11.29) .
Remove an adjusting level from a back brake shoe.

Remove With-shaped and separate the lever of automatic adjustment from a back brake shoe (fig. 11.30) .

Remove a lock ring and separate the lever of the parking brake from a back brake shoe (fig. 11.31) .

Beat out a pin from an old back brake shoe and establish it on a new block (fig. 11.32) .
Establish the lever of the parking brake on a pin of a back brake shoe and fix it a new E-shaped lock ring.
Establish the lever of automatic adjustment on a pin of a back brake shoe and fix it a new With-shaped ring.
Establish a spring of the lever of automatic adjustment.

Establish an adjusting level on a back brake shoe, then hook on a returnable spring for a block opening (fig. 11.33) .
Apply a thin film high-temperature greasing on a protective casing of a back brake in places of its contact to brake shoes.
Establish a cable of the hand brake on the lever of the hand brake.
Establish a back brake shoe into place, pass through a block a pin, establish a spring and fix a spring a plate, having pressed a plate and having turned it on 90 °.
Establish on blocks the bottom returnable spring, then establish a forward brake shoe into place, pass through a block a pin, establish a spring and fix a spring a plate, having pressed a plate and having turned it on 90 °.
Fix the top returnable spring on a forward brake shoe.
Being careful, clear an internal surface of a brake drum of a brake dust and dirt. Clear an external surface of a brake drum and check on obvious signs of wear or damages, existence of cracks round openings under bolts of fastening of a wheel. If necessary replace a drum. Measure internal diameter of a brake drum. Value of the most admissible internal diameter of a brake drum is put on an internal flange of a drum.
Establish a brake drum on a nave of a back wheel. A screw-driver inserted through an opening from a reverse side of a protective casing of a back brake, rotate a cogwheel of an adjusting level while brake shoes will not brake a brake drum, then turn in the opposite direction a cogwheel on so many that the brake drum rotated freely. A cap close an opening in a protective casing of a back brake.
Establish a wheel and fix it nuts.
Lower the car.
Several times tighten the lever of the parking brake to adjust the provision of back brake shoes.
