On models from 1996 to 1998 it was established usual contactless the ignition systems, consisting of the lock of ignition, the storage battery, the distributor and the coil of ignition, the electronic control block (ESM), the sensor of an angle of rotation of a cranked shaft, spark plugs and wires.
The electronic control block (ESM) operates installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition on the basis of signals from the sensors supervising power setting, such as frequency of rotation, amount of air arriving in the engine, temperature of cooling liquid, etc., on all operational modes. The ESM block is located on the right side in a motor compartment.
This contactless system of ignition turns on the inductive sensor located in the distributor of ignition, the coil of ignition fixed on an inlet collector about the distributor of ignition, and the switchboard located in a motor compartment.
On models from 1998 to 2001 the switchboard with coils of ignition are executed in the form of the uniform block established on an arm, on an inlet collector.
On models since 2001 blocks the ignition switchboard/coil on each cylinder were established, is direct on spark plugs, application of high-voltage wires thus was not required.
On models from 1998 to 2001 the contactless system of ignition consists of the sensor of provision of a camshaft, the sensor of an angle of rotation of a cranked shaft, ignition coils (one coil on 2 цил.) switchboard and control unit engine (PCM). The coil of ignition and the switchboard are executed in the form of the uniform block and established from the forward party of the engine. On the basis of signals of sensors of provision of a camshaft and an angle of rotation of a cranked shaft, the control unit the engine identifies the cylinder, and submits an operating impulse on the switchboard for spark giving to the corresponding cylinder. Each coil of ignition actually consists of the 2nd separate high-voltage windings which submit a spark to two cylinders everyone (one to cylinders No. 1 and 4, and another to cylinders No. 2 and 3). The impulse of ignition moves at once on two spark plugs for each cycle of the engine, one on the compression step, one on an exhaust step — the ignition spark on a step of release does not render any value for operation of the engine and consequently is spent "empty". The control unit the engine (PCM) uses signals from various sensors to calculate a demanded corner of an advancing of ignition and time of accumulation of energy in the ignition coil.
On models since 2001 the contactless system of ignition consists of the sensor of provision of a camshaft, the sensor of an angle of rotation of a cranked shaft, blocks of the coil of the ignition / switchboard / spark plug, established on everyone cylinder and the control unit the engine (PCM). On the basis of signals of sensors of provision of a camshaft and an angle of rotation of a cranked shaft the control unit the engine identifies the cylinder and submits an operating impulse on the corresponding block of the coil of an ignition/switchboard/spark plug, and also calculates demanded installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition and time of accumulation of energy in the ignition coil.
